LSU’s lone 2023 commitment is WR Omarion Miller, who tells me he’s expecting a visit from LSU QB coach Joe Sloan today at his school, has been in contact with a few of the new coaches and staffers, but he has not had a chance yet to talk to WR coach Cortez Hankton just yet. Miller sounds pretty locked in with the Tigers even through the coaching change and he does have a good relationship with a handful of the staffers, like Sloan. He’s hoping to visit Baton Rouge this spring, but a date hasn’t been scheduled yet. Speaking of Hankton, he spoke to 2022 WR Leroy Paige yesterday, Paige told me. The three-star NOLA WR doesn't have an LSU offer, but certainly the Tigers have been aware of him and he has visited Baton Rouge before. Could have been just Hankton checking in and seeing where things stand with him, but sounds like they would want to add one more WR to the class, just not sure of their order on things just yet and how many they'd be willing to take and if a transfer WR would be wanted more than a high schooler.

Many 2023 linebacker Tackett Curtis also tells me he’s been talking to LSU quite a bit as of late, mostly with Jordan Arcement, who’s title is Recruiting Specialist/Defense. Curtis continues to reel in big offers, with the latest coming from Ohio State. It's still early and a long way to go, but this LSU staff has put themselves in a much better position to at least have a shot at Curtis, or so it seems. The previous regime had no shot in my opinion.

There’s a large group of mostly New Orleans area kids expected to visit LSU Friday afternoon, including 2024 LB Keidrick Richardson, who had an offer from LSU dating back to 2020; St. Augustine four-star DT Kyran Bourda, who has offers from Georgia, Florida State, Florida and Texas; and 2026 DL Jahkeem Stewart, who has early offers from Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss and a few others.

TreVonte Citizen is a huge piece for LSU and Frank Wilson and the Tigers will be hosting him this weekend on an official visit, a source confirmed to me. As of now, he’s the only official visitor this weekend. It feels like LSU has lost the lead for him, especially after the Noah Cain commitment, but even prior. He decommitted from LSU following a visit to Auburn that the four-star back thoroughly enjoyed. Florida is also in the mix. This weekend will be very telling on how things could play out with Citizen when signing day rolls around.

I fully expect LSU to slow down some in the transfer portal after landing 11 commitments in the last week or two but one name we’ll be watching closely is new portal entry grad transfer cornerback Jarrick Bernard-Converse, a Shreveport native, who signed with Oklahoma State in 2017. He racked up 195 tackles, 7.5 TFL, four sacks, two interceptions and 24 passes defended in four years. He played on the same Evangel Christian team as Micah Baskerville.

The new coaching staff continues to evaluate prospects and shuffle their board with many, many offers going out lately with the latest yesterday being…

And then the Tigers re-offered Louisiana 2023 back Trey Holly
