gents, so Jay Johnson went hunting mosquitoes with a bazooka against Tulane. once the decision to pitch Skenes was made, him pitching a complete game was the best outcome.
and I get, Tulane was on a roll and probably the best 19-40 team we could ever play.
However, now we have to play a near must win against a great team that pounded Sam Houston 18-2. and we have to do this with backup pitching. Oregon State has knocked us out of the tournament twice in recent years already. if we lose today, we will have to win three in a row in 24 hours without Skenes and with our minus Skenes near 8 ERA pitching staff.
so yes, this game is a must win.
