LSU head coach Brian Kelly confirmed that left guard Garrett Dellinger will miss the Auburn game with a broken hand. Kelly said the sophomore OL had surgery on his hand Tuesday.

"He had surgery yesterday and it appears as though it's tight for him to make the game," Kelly said on the SEC Teleconference. "At first we thought we could get him ready but there was a screw and plate that needed to go in there, so right now as we're talking I would say he's doubtful for Saturday.

"The natural progression for us would be to move Miles Frazier over to left guard."

The Athletic's Brody Miller was the first to report.

They're hopeful he can return the following week for the big home matchup against Tennessee.

Dellinger was prepped by Kelly & Co. to be the starting center this season, but the Tiger coaches moved him to left guard and switched up the offensive line after the Week 1 loss to Florida State.

In his freshman season, Dellinger played in 12 games with four starts, including final three games of the regular season. His first career start came at left tackle in win over Mississippi State. Followed that performance with November starts at left tackle in wins over Louisiana-Monroe and Texas A&M. He started in place of Ed Ingram at left guard against Arkansas. He did not play in the bowl game.
