I think Secretariat still holds the Kentucky Derby record,and I think the next best winning time belonged to horse named Menarcus(or something like that).But to me the 2nd fastest time might have been Sham from that same 1973 race because he also broke the 2 minute mark,finishing a couple of lengths behind.
