There are multiple reports that LSU defensive coordinator Kevin Steele is going to replace Will Muschamp as defensive coordinator at Auburn. Reportedly, the Tigers are trying to hold on to Steele. With coach Les Miles' job status after the 2016 season up in the air, it would be difficult to find someone to join the staff. Therefore, it would not be surprising if defensive line coach Ed Orgeron would be promoted to defensive coordinator.
