This BS myth that somehow LSU fans expect too much or the expectations are higher than most is patently false and frankly nothing more than word fodder for morons that don't know any better. If we use the "expectations" for Ed Orgeron for this 2021 season we all pretty much agree that had the team gone 9-3, Ed would probably be pretty safe and in fact most years 9-3 would be okay as long as the team competed for the SEC lets say every 3 or 4 years..

Can we all agree on that? If so, then let's see where a 9-3 or even 10-2 gets you? I will use the AP final regular seasons rankings for this and note the highest and lowest ranking for both in the given year.

2011 (10-2): 5th to 17th
2011 (9-3): 15th to 24th

2012 (10-2): 6th to 14th
2012 (9-3): 15th to 23rd

2013 (10-2): 7th to 20th
2013 (9-3): 14th to 23rd

2014 (10-2): 7th to 14th
2014 (9-3): 13th to 25th

2015 (10-2): 5th to 13th
2015 (9-3): 15th to 23rd

2016 (10-2): 6th to 14th
2016 (9-3): 9th to 16th

2017 (10-2): 7th to 12th
2017 (9-3): 14th to 22nd

2018 (10-2): 8th to 12th
2018 (9-3): 10th to 17th

2019 (10-2): 7th to 21st
2019 (9-3): 11th to 22nd

2020 (2 losses): 8th to 19th
2020 (3 losses): 16th to 24th

So again I ask where are these unrealistic expectations? I would be willing to bet every national guy and every fan would say that LSU should finish as a top 20 team on a yearly basis correct? Is that considered unrealistic? I'm tired of hearing the BS by national guys and fans that clearly have no clue WTF they are talking about when referencing "unrealistic expectations" and somehow LSU unjustly fires coaches based on that.
