- Proud of his team's mindset heading into the Vanderbilt game.
- Thought it was Nussmeier's most complete game of the season. Also thought the offense was very balanced.
- Says having vets like Josh Williams, Will Campbell, etc. taking a big leadership role this week is huge. It showed guys like Trey'Dez and Caden how to be leaders. Said he wished it could've happened a bit earlier, but it was nice to see them really step up after the three-game skid.
- OU made an OC change earlier this year and they've turned into a ball control offense.
- Says Perkins is doing well in his recovery and has been in the building quite a bit. He hasn't made his final decision on if he'll stay or not, but they'll support him either way.
- They simplified the offense this week. Said the coaches did their best to put their guys in the best positions to succeed do they didn't have execution mistakes. Says during his career when there have been a lot of mistakes, it's because it's too much to process for the players.
- Thinks they'll still end up getting a quarterback this cycle, whether it be in the February signing period or the portal. However, they're more concerned about the overall health of the roster.
- Wanted to take some of the weight off Greg Penn and they wanted to get West Weeks in the game this week against a run-heavy team.
- Says they will be "very aggressive" in the portal this year. They "stayed under the cap" last year so they could be very aggressive this time around.
- He, Austin Thomas and Frank Wilson are working every day on roster building. It starts with retention, then the on-going HS recruiting process, then the portal.
- CJ Daniels has been a glue guy for them. He's been consistent everyday and has played through a more significant injury than anyone realizes. Says "I don't know how he does it." Says indications point to him being back next year.
