Amidst all the (justifiable) teeth-gnashing about how the 2H was handled from a play calling perspective, here are the 3 positives I took from the game:
-Ladies & Gentlemen, I introduce you to Kendall Beckwith. My God, what a physical marvel he was last night. The man is 6'3 255 pounds and runs like a deer. And he was the most physical defensive player we had. He just ABUSED the guards for State. As great as Minter was, he was half the size of this guy. That was a top 10 pick we saw introduce himself to America last night. He's quite simply the best MLB in the country.
-Debo Jones. The absolute perfect speed compliment to Beckwith. The kid is a missile, hits like a ton of bricks, and actually had more tackles (12) then KB last night (11). Enjoy the show these 2 will put on this year.
-Arden Key. He keeps being compared to KeKe, and rightfully so. But Mingo was nothing like this physically when he entered the program at 18. This dude is already 250 pounds. Top 5 pick in 3 years, and the best pass rusher LSU has produced in a generation. Get your popcorn.
