A memo was sent out regarding a new ruling for NIL and Title IX. The NCAA has said that they agree to allow power conferences to share up to 20.5 million dollars in payments to student athletes. Many schools had plans to distribute that money in different ways, with some schools admitting they planned on giving 75+ percent to football alone because it makes much more money than any other sport, but that won't be the case anymore. The Department of Education, which enforces Title IX, ruled that, if schools do not distribute the money equally between every student athlete, they could be in violation of Title IX. They said those payments should be considered athletic financial assistance, therefore it needs to be equal. The memo doesn't say anything about money raised through boosters, it's just the 20.5 million.
