Tyler Shelvin drew big praise from Ed Orgeron this week when the LSU coach compared the redshirt freshman nose tackle to former All-American defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey.

The East Ascension product won a slew of awards wearing No. 72 in purple and gold during his college career before being selected No. 5 overall in the 2008 NFL Draft.

But junior linebacker Devin White, one of the Tigers' leaders this season, for one, thinks that his teammate is capable of living up to such lofty comparisons.

"He wears his number. They didn't give him the number for no reason! He can live up to that hype if that's what the hype's gonna be on him. I think he wants to be his own person, but I mean he's gonna play just as good as he need to play and his team needs him to play."
