Each week position units are given a grade . I’d like to grade the current staff of assistants on coaching ability only ( not recruiting prowess ) . The grade should be the quality of the assistant , not based only on 2020 .
in order to become the dominant team in the SEC we have to not only out recruit the competition but hire BETTER Assistants and keep them around long enough to make a difference
in other words how good are these assistants ? Good enough to out coach the SEC opponents ??
DC Pelini . Might as well jump right in . Pelini has been successful at most stops including LSU and Alabama
Orgeron obviously felt strongly about this hire . Trying to see the big picture , not just the start of 2020
B
OC Ensminger . He’s done a. good job developing QBs at LSU . That says a lot IMO .
On a national level he’s not considered elite but few can argue with his results
B
OL Cregg . Every OL coach has to coach a patched up OL at some point . None go injury free an entire season
When your OL has just won the Joe Moore Award for best OL nationally you have to give a top grade
A
WR Joseph . LSU a will always have WR talent galore to coach . It’s easy when you are surrounded by NFL
talent to coach .
C
RB Faulk . Hard to grade a coach who’s only done so part of a year .Having great success for a long time in the NFL is no guarantee thata coach will be good
grade ...to be determined
Passing game . Linehan . He got a glowing resume ...college and pro . He’s a veteran for sure. No his 3rd
Down success to date has been good and bad . Passing game has been very good
A
DL Johnson . He’s another veteran of the NFL and college who’s succeeded at numerous stops
A
Safeties Busch . Trying to consider his entire work not just the woeful start of 2020
C
CB Raymond . Like the WR coach he‘s blessed with NFL talent
C
ST McMahon . NFL veteran whis seen it all
A
H C ..Orgeron . This we know . He’s good enough to guide a team to a national champion ship but so was Les Miles . Grading a HC coaching ability has much to do with game planning and game management on Sat. , making needed half time adjustments
