LSU officials confirm that Roy King, the LSU band director, was placed on paid administrative leave Wednesday morning.
In an interview with The Advocate, King's attorney Jill Craft accuses the LSU School of Music of attempting to control athletic funds that go to the Tiger Band, Color Guard, and Golden Girls, which fall under King's authority.
BATON ROUGE - The attorney representing one of LSU's band directors, Roy King, said King was put on administrative leave because of a witch-hunt jealous colleagues are conducting.
"It's a travesty," Jill Craft said about King's leave. King directs the Tiger Marching Band where he serves as the primary instructor, overseeing administrative activities including drill and show design.
