Good turnout today for the first day (morning and afternoon sessions) of LSU's annual Elite Prospects Camp.
------
I think the biggest takeaways for me were the number of talented 2024 and 2025 quarterbacks the Tigers had on campus.
2025 Trinity Christian (Fla.) QB Collin Hurley made a few of the best throws I saw Thursday morning.
The same can be said for 2024 Little Rock Christian (Ark.) QB Walker White, who was on campus all day and had a lengthy conversation with Joe Sloan after camp, received an offer and took pictures with Sloan before heading out.
And 2024 Corner Canyon (Utah) QB Isaac Wilson (Zach Wilson's young brother) and 2024 Baker (Ala.) QB Josh Flowers stayed after to throw with 2023 North Caddo WR Omarion Miller, 2024 Terrebonne WR Kylan Billiot and a couple quick, smaller WRs in front of Sloan, Cortez Hankton and Brian Polian.
2024 Catholic (Baton Rouge) QB Daniel Beale, 2025 Oak Grove QB Jackson Bradley and 2025 St. Joseph Catholic (Miss.) QB Emile Picarella had nice days as well.
While we wait to see how the game of quarterback musical chairs or dominos unfold for the 2023 class, LSU feels well-positioned for the next two classes at the position — particularly after a great visit for 2024 Carlsbad (Calif.) QB Julian Sayin earlier in the week.
-------
Omarion Miller and Kylan Billiot both garnered a lot of attention in the afternoon. The two in-state pass-catchers made some nice receptions during the camp session and then took part in the aforementioned more extensive, focused workout afterward. Polian seemed to chat the most with O before and after the workout, and Hankton more with Billiot.
-----
2025 U-High LB/ATH Keylan Moses was back on campus, continuing a busy summer, and looked good patrolling the middle of the field during afternoon 7-on-7.
-----
Thought another few in-state guys that looked good were 2023 St. Martinville WR Harvey Broussard, 2023 Destrehan ATH Jai Eugene Jr., 2024 LCA CB Ty Lee, 2023 Amite ATH Lemar Harris and Jewel Sumner teammates Rodney Brown Jr. (2023) and Antonio Dyson (2024).
------
2023 Winton Woods (Cincinnati, Ohio) ATH/DB Jermaine Mathews Jr. may have been the top performer in the morning and chatted afterward on the field with Robert Steeples, Matt House and Mike Denbrock before heading inside to talk more and receiving an offer.
-------
Frank Wilson III had his eyes on a JUCO RB and potential late-qualifying 2022 RB (I wasn't able to catch their names) during some of the afternoon one-on-ones, so that could end up being a position to watch for the final scholarship of the class.
-----
Vincent Sanders was back on campus and brought 8-10 good-looking kids from the Ocala and Belleview, Fla., areas. @Jimmy Detail might have some more names, schools and info on that crew from his old stomping grounds when he lived in Florida for a while.
------
2024 Chillicothe (Ohio) TE Tayvion Galloway was back on campus again as well this morning and got a lot of one-on-one and small-group time with Denbrock.
-----
And 2026 Virginia ATH Trent Simmers was another good-looking out-of-state prospect worth keeping an eye on for the years to come. Legitimately 6-2, 175 kid who runs and moves well already as he gets his feet wet with the recruiting process. He was talented enough to be moved by coaches to the group with the older athletes and has an affinity for the area & program with some family in Baker.
-----
Saw several of LSU's current players during the course of the day as well, and all looked good and sounded enthusiastic about how the offseason is going.
Noah Cain looked like Frank's right-hand man during a lot of the morning running back drill work and was all smiles at lunch time to be back home in Louisiana and feeling in the best shape of his college career thus far.
Jordan Allen looked taller and leaner than ever, like they stretched him.
Maason Smith and Quency Wiggins are monsters. Kyren Lacy, Malik Nabers and Jack Bech all look great. Mekhi Garner was bouncing around involved and enthusiastic all afternoon for sure and maybe all day.
The words "organization" and "accountability" are among the most consistent you hear from any current players you talk to — as well as "explosiveness," when talking workouts. And, for that matter, "organization" or "organized" and "development" have been constant themes talking to recruits about recent visits, and you see the organization and efficiency play out throughout the course of camp.
