LSU FOOTBALL LSU needs to rethink it's whole tailgating approach

This is only my opinion. Going to an LSU game is a bit of a pain in the ass usually; especially when it comes to parking. In my opinion the LSU admin has ruined the tailgating culture that used to exist years ago. Passionate fans can't get close and don't tailgate because they don't pay for a spot.

I understand there are spots on the campus that it makes sense to charge money, but not every spot on campus. I do get that they want to make money. However, the LSU admin has systematically ruined the tailgate scene at LSU with their effort to try and make money off every square foot of land within a mile of Tiger Stadium. Tailgating is not what it used to be and I blame the LSU admin for that.

IMO, what they need to do is remove most of the parking pass requirements and go to a system of paying say $25 per vehicle to bring a vehicle onto campus and let people tailgate wherever the hell they want. First come first served.

I'm simply not going to pay $500 or $800 to have a 6 or 7 game parking pass on campus that I need to hitch hike to the stadium anyway. With so many LSU fans choosing not to go to games at all or leave early these days, I think LSU needs to rethink their approach. I know it won't happen. I just think the talegate
atmosphere has eroded. It's not the same as it was 20+ years ago. Only the wealthy can afford tickets and parking. I can afford it but I'm not paying $800 to park.
