Bama vs LSU as of 2018;
1. Bama DL is much better than the LSU OL and it’s not close. To make it worse not one LSU DL guy would start on the Bama DL. If you just watch Bama DL guys they are tons more athletic than our DL guys and it’s not close. Look down NFL current rosters and the ex Bama guys are sprinkled throughout the league.
2. LSU does not have one OL guy that could start for the Bama OL.
3. LSU don’t have a TE that is a threat to catch the ball and extend the field.
Until we get better in the trenches i can’t tell if Steve E has what it takes. It is hard to see what you have on offense when you can’t block the other teams front. I don’t want to get into the debate about Bama WR’s and Rb’s versus LSU but you could make an argument that we don’t match up at those positions either.
IMO this trench problem started about 6-7 years ago. Progressively getting worse as compared to Bama. If they are the benchmark then that’s all I will compare them to. This game was in Tiger Stadium. No excuses. And our OL guys were totally out classed.
