Offering "inducements" to recruits" by boosters and entities associated with boosters is about to end. A&M and Texas with its signing of 30 freshmen with inducements looks like it will be illegal, going forward.

"If boosters are found to have collaborated with a program to use NIL benefits as an incentive to lure prospects to the school, the penalties could be severe, Smith said".

The NCAA committee says NIL was intended for existing student athletes, not recruits. No doubt, this will force schools to pay recruits under the table again.
In the meantime, NIL deals like Ewers got at Ohio St, despite not playing, will be a target for the NCAA.

Kelly seems to have gotten it right. The only NIL deals at LSU are for players who actually have already played. Getting into bidding wars for recruits out of HS will be illegal again.

It will be interesting if the NCAA also tries to crack down on recruiting players from other teams. The transfer portal is also being abused. Bama has been doing it since Covid, as seen from last years team with Too'To and Williams, where Bama took them as "walk ons". No 5 star player is going to "walk on", unless he is promised something in advance. Just saying.
