Have had a chance to chat with about a dozen recruits so far about their experiences at LSU this weekend, and should hear back from a few more tonight or tomorrow as everyone finishes traveling back home. Will continue to add to the post as they do... and planning to have a couple more posts more in-depth on individuals coming as well. The young lineman Katrell Webb shared a lot of detail about his new offer.

A star-studded guest list of former and potentially future Tigers helped highlight LSU's first spring game under coach Brian Kelly and his new staff.

Dozens of talented high school prospects at different stages of their recruitments visited Baton Rouge for the event.

And several took time Sunday to share their experiences with Tiger Details from the facilities, atmosphere, relationships, food, relationship, game itself and seeing stars such as Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson and company return to their alma mater.

Paul Mubenga, 2023 OL (Buford HS, Ga.)

"It was a lot more of what I expected from the school — very lively and entertaining. It's a great atmosphere for the spring. The fan base is really into everything that involves LSU."

"I talked to coach (Brad) Davis, who is the one that offered me. He really liked how flexible, agile and athletic I am. He really sees me playing any position on the line for him and he believes in my ability to improve at their program."

"(Davis) is a great coach that knows what he's coaching with experience. He's really convincing and he's doing a great job with the line."

"It's incredible seeing that (Burrow and other former players) still care about this program that much."

"I'll definitely think about coming back here soon... Maybe (for summer camps).

"What I look for the most in a school is academics, a family feel and the relationship I build with the coaches and everyone there."

Katrell Webb, 2026 OL/DL (Collins Hill HS, Ga.)

"Great environment. LSU's gotta have one of the best fan bases. The facilities were mind-blowing. The fields and locker rooms were crazy. The game was great. The boys were super competitive, and you know a team is great when they have players in the league and they return to visit things like that at the school. What stood out most to me was taking pictures in the locker room. That was the funnest part — and being on the field during pregame, just watching my position work like that and being able to evaluate myself to see where I need to be when the time comes."

"The crawfish thing was new to me. It was OK. I was a BBQ type of guy that day."

Ashton Stamps, 2023 DB/ATH (Archbishop Rummel)

"The experience was cool. I enjoyed being there and felt that I could see myself there. What stood out to me the most was that the team looked organized from the crowd's perspective, even though we know that this is a new coaching staff and new team trying to rebuild."

"The new staff tries their best to make you feel a part and not left out. They show lots of love. I have been talking to Jordan Arcement the most. Just like the other coaches, he shows a lot of love towards us and makes us feel comfortable with him."

"This 2023 Louisiana class has a lot of talented athletes. They would be able to stack up on some talent coming up the next few years, so with (Arcement, Cortez Hankton, Joe Sloan, Sherman Wilson and other new coaches) knowing the area well, it's a big advantage."

Darron Reed, 2023 DE (Carver HS, Ga.)

"Sitting down talking with coach (Matt) House (stood out), and I enjoyed the spring game... We talked about everything. We talked about life, football and really just got to know each other more.... He has a great personality and can communicate very well."

"I got a chance to see (Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and the former players in attendance), and I thought it was pretty cool."

Justin Content, 2024 WR/DB (Mill Creek HS, Ga.)

"I don't think it will be my last (visit to Baton Rouge) either! The weather was amazing, food was excellent and most of all the staff was great. It made you feel really at home."

"They held a crawfish bowl and BBQ after the spring game. First time I actually had to have the mom that was sitting next to me show me how to eat them. I was trying to eat them like they were crab legs or something."

"I was with my team for most of the time. I didn't get to see coach Sherman (Wilson) until toward the end."

"I thought it was great (to see the former players come back). I loved to see the alumni come back out and support... (I watched the 2019 team) all the time. I still like to watch the (Ja'Marr) Chase and (Justin) Jefferson duo just because I like the way they work."

Planning on playing wide receiver in college "as of right now, but due to us losing a lot of DBs this year, that could change in the next two years."

Brennon Thompson, 2024 DB/ATH (East Ascension)

"I like the atmosphere at LSU. I would like to go back some time this summer."

"I think LSU is a great place to be, and being form Louisiana just adds more to the feel for the school. It's an atmosphere like no other."

"I got the chance to talk with coach (Jordan) Arcement) and coach (Kerry) Cooks about the team and what they've been building up for this upcoming season."

"I don't really hear from coach Cooks much. I just met him this Saturday. I can't really say much as to what they're viewing me as right now, so I'll continue to work hard on both sides of the ball."

"Coach Cooks was a cool dude. We spoke about the defense and what they're working on. I like the new crew. They made me feel like I was on the team, made me feel like I was about to suit up and play."

Rayein Oatis, 2024 DB (Donaldsonville)

"I was just grateful to be a part of the experience. When we went into the stadium, it was all positive energy. The words from the recruiters and watching them play were encouraging. I look forward to learning and growing."

"I got a chance to talk to coach Jordan (Arcement). I shadowed any cornerback I saw on the field and off, so I can see what the college lie is like. Also Kyren Lacy even though my main position is cornerback."

"I think (the new coaches) are bettering the program starting with education and motivating us. They influenced us by letting us know school comes before everything. They also gave a lot of tips about being on the field... One thing about education, there's a teacher who keeps track of everything with the student-athletes. There's always help — when you don't understand something, just speak up.
