LSU coach Ed Orgeron met with members of the media following Wednesday's practice. Here are items of note by position area.

WR
Derrick Dillon is making a move up the depth chart. Dillon and Russell Gage are the top two receivers behind DJ Chark. JaCoby Stevens is also making progress after his position switch. Justin Jefferson has joined the team. There was no mention of any other wide receiver.

TE
Aaron Moffitt has been switched from defensive end to tight end.

OL
Tackle K.J. Malone returned to practice. Center Will Clapp and tackle Toby Weathersby were still out of practice. Clapp and Weathersby may be back by the end of the week. Guard Donavaughn Campbell is also on the sidelines due to an injury.

QB
No one has separated himself in the competition for the No. 2 quarterback spot. It sounds like Myles Brennan and Lowell Narcisse are a little ahead of Justin McMillan and Lindsey Scott.

ILB
Jason Phillips and Tyler Taylor are the top two backups.

OLB
Corey Thompson, who has been injured, was back at practice.

CB/NB
Kevin Toliver and Donte Jackson are the starters. Kristian Fulton and Greedy Williams are the backups. Kary Vincent and Xavier Lewis are competing for the nickel back spot.

S
Ed Paris is out with a leg injury (not serious). Grant Delpit took Paris' spot with the No. 1 defense.

KR/PR
The top three candidates are Drake Davis, Dillon and Jackson. Clyde Edwards-Helaire could get into the mix.

K
Connor Culp and Jack Gonsoulin were a combined 10-of-10 on field goals. Orgeron said the two kickers split the attempts.
