Is that LSU nor any other sec team will challenge Alabama as long as Nick is there.
Why? Because he has systematically and relentlessly built an apparatus that NFL teams would be envious of.
Some of the foolish and sarcastic emarks here about CEO being a good recruiter are just idiotic.
No one can undo what saban has built in a few weeks. And if you think it is all about a relationship with a coach then you are naïve. Alabama has turned college recruiting into the ultimate business proposition. It's all about wining championships, being part of the process, and signing a lucrative NFL contract. And like it or not, Alabama is the best at all of those at the moment.
Saban has his tentacles all over the southern states and his 120 consultants are good. Saban doesn't recruit: he selects. The day of the hometown boy choosing his state school are over until saban retires.
CEO is a proven recruiter but cannot unscrew the damage Les Miles did by his antiquated methods and also by his losing his focus and drive the last five years. Saban exposed him for the idiot that he is. Miles is not smart enough to keep up with Sabin and many of us saw it coming. My point is not about miles but to point out that this is been coming on for several years and CEO cannot unscrew it in a matter of weeks or months. Part of his interview with the athletic director and the board was to address this very issue and that LSU has got to put more forward to compete with them.
The only good news out of this is that CEO is going to push forward more aggressively which is what many coaches had wanted but Miles would not allow it, and also that once saban retires the infrastructure that he has built in Alabama will implode. He's the only one that can run that and keep it operating at such a high level.
This is a situation unlike any ever in college football. And a couple of good weeks of sitting down with the recruits is not going to solve the problem. It's gonna take some real work it's a real effort.this is the reality of the SEC right now
