LSU and Georgia were in a very strong position for Caleb Williams just a month ago, with LSU having an edge over the Bulldogs. But changes to the offensive staff at LSU and a commitment from No. 1 ranked QB Brock Vandagriff to Georgia has changed things a little bit. The Bulldogs also lost offensive coordinator James Coley to Texas A&M, who played a significant role in positioning the Bulldogs as a potential landing spot for the elite QB.

Oregon, who is also lurking in the race for Williams, also took a hit when Ducks offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo took the head coaching job at UNLV.

LSU is still on good footing with Williams and his family, according to sources, with LSU filling the current void left by the departures of Joe Brady and Jorge Munoz by having Steve Ensminger and Ed Orgeron focus on Williams. The good news for LSU is that their biggest competition for Williams also experienced changes to its staff. The bad news is that Williams appeared to be leaning toward a possible spring commitment, with LSU in the lead, and now things may get pushed back a bit.

I also expect Texas A&M to emerge as a threat for Williams now that Coley is on staff with the Aggies. Word is that they are already making a strong push.
