Akron lefthanded pitcher John Valek is transferring to LSU. Valek, who has one year of eligibility remaining, will be able to play for the Tigers in 2016. Valek is immediately because Akron has shut down its baseball program. Last year, Valek had a 6-6 record with a 3.25 ERA in 100 innings. In the previous three seasons, Valek had a 16-18 record with a 3.38 ERA in 277 innings.
