There are 11 spots available for Power 5 conference teams in the six upper-tier bowl games.

Top four teams in semifinals at the Cotton Bowl and the Orange Bowl.

SEC and Big XII teams at the Sugar Bowl.

Pac-12 and Big 10 teams at the Rose Bowl.

Three teams to fill four spots at the Peach Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl.


A team with three losses (unless it's a conference champion) will probably not get one of these 11 spots. Here are the Power 5 Conference teams with fewer than three losses.
