Conference championship games

With the new playoff format these conference title games should be done away with . Now they are nothing but a money grab

For 6 of the 8 participants the outcome had little impact as the 3 losers got in

Conference championships could be awarded to the team with the best record during the season

Eliminating these game the playoff could be started earlier

Teams have additional risk o f star players getting injured

Some teams, Indiana and Tennessee, benefited by missing out on this extra game

P4 ADs are questioning the wisdom of scheduling OOC P4 opponents risking an additional loss

SEC teams chewed each other up this year …only 3 made the playoff

LSU played TWO P4 teams OOC in 2024

It seems that poor strength of schedule didn’t hurt teams like N Dame , SMU , Boise St , even Indiana SOS was weak
Of course fans pay for tickets and don’t enjoy games vs cup cakes

So what is the best strategy if your goal is to make the playoffs , please fans , have a glowing W-L record
