LSU FOOTBALL Greg Brooks files lawsuit against LSU for negligence

Story from Ross Dellenger:

OFF TOPIC Some Personal News

No, I'm not announcing my departure. You guys aren't that lucky. However, I know I've been more in the background as of late though still involved with the site. I'm not quite sure what to call it yet, but I had a bit of a health scare recently. I think that's the perfect thing to call it. Or maybe episode. Long story short, after a recent heart concern, without getting too personal I've had to see a cardiologist and I'm currently wearing a heart monitor and have further testing, and evaluations scheduled through the month of October. So, I've been forced to take it a little easier as of late.

I'm not planning on going anywhere anytime soon. We are still looking for a recruiting analyst to add to the site and I will still be around, and things will eventually return to normal. I'm doing the best I can to keep them as they were and want to get back to where we were when Kenny was here with not only providing great team content, but also recruiting content as well. I just ask that hopefully you'll take it a little easy on me and give us a little patience while we continue to look for the next great addition to the team.

We'll get there.

LSU FOOTBALL 10/10 Brian Kelly Media Availability

  • They'll update CJ Daniels' status after tonight's workout. Says if he and Parker are out, we could see Zavion Thomas, Ka'Morreun Pimpton and Trey'Dez Green could all see more playing time this week. Also mentioned Shelton Sampson and Jelani Watkins as other potential playmakers.
  • Calls for his defense to make it tough on Ole Miss on early downs. Says if they get ahead of the chains, the Rebels will be able to dictate the pace of the game. If they can force them into some second and third and longs, he feels they have a shot to slow them down and play at LSU's pace.
  • Zy Alexander has cleared concussion protocol and will play this weekend.
  • They have to call and execute their coverages, because Ole Miss will burn you if you give them one static look. Also says they can't sit back in soft coverages and expect it to work, they need to be aggressive in the secondary.
  • Says the Rebels have really good defensive personnel, so he's not surprised that they've been able to turn their defense around so fast. The question was, could they blend together well, and he thinks they have done a good job of playing well together.
  • Durham practiced today and he would be surprised if his status goes down from probable. Says he's been able to handle big moments. He doesn't get too high or too low, which has allowed him to find so much success this year.
  • Thinks Nuss has handled the bye week really well. They did some self-scouting and found some things for him to work on, and he put his head down and made some good progress in those areas.
  • Says Kyren Lacy would probably like to have some drops back, but thinks he's made some massive plays over the course of the season, specifically the SC game. He's also been a great leader and pushes everyone in practice.
  • Thinks they're playing really well on the edges with Sai'vion and Bradyn. He's also pleased with the pressure Whit Weeks has also gotten this year. Ole Miss gets the ball out quick, so they're going to need to get after him quick. They're more worried about pressures and batted balls than sacks against them.
  • Says the safeties have to play great this weekend. He's counting on them to be leaders and help get the nickel and others lined up. Says that's the area where they've spent a lot of time over the last 10 days.
  • Says it's really difficult to win in Tiger Stadium, and they're trying to live up to that expectation. They've only lost once in Tiger Stadium since he's been here.

LSU FOOTBALL LSU remaining schedule

Gents & Tina,

See my thoughts below on our remaining schedule:

LSU 4-1 (1-0 SEC)
6) vs Ole Miss: just pounded USCe 27-3, who we barely beat (36-33) in the same place
7) @ Arkansas: just beat #4 Tennessee 19-14
8) @ A$M: got their qb back and just destroyed #9 Missouri 41-10
bye
9) vs bama: still bama
10) @ gaytors: just played their best game of the year and might have a better coach by this game
11) vs Vandy: just punked bama in every way 40-35 (Vandy scored more points than Saban allowed in 17 years)
12) vs Oklahoma: still Oklahoma and they have played pretty well so far

How I rank the remaining games in level of difficulty (very difficult choices here):
1) @ A$M
2) vs bama
3) vs Ole Miss
4) @ Arkansas
5) vs Oklahomos
6) vs Vandy
7) @ gaytors

I don't think I have ever thought this but we could win or lose any remaining game. Not going to venture a guess as to our final record.

Damn, SEC football is something else. This is going to be a fun season. Geaux Tigers

Let's hear others rank the remaining (7) games...
