Currently typing up some tidbits on the portal, but needed to come post that LSU WR Kyren Lacy has announced that he's entering the 2025 NFL Draft.

I'm told that he's had discussions with the LSU staff previously and that was a big reason they put such an emphasis on getting in these talented receivers via the portal.

LSU FOOTBALL LSU Football Transfer Portal Central *Updated 12/21 at 3:11 PM*

The 2024 regular season is over, which means the transfer portal is opening up soon (December 9th). However, players are already announcing their intent to enter the portal once it opens, including two Tigers. This thread will be updated with everything you need to know about which LSU players have entered the portal, who the Tigers are targeting and who has officially committed to LSU.

this game is a joke and a complete waste of time, SEC should be up in arms.

a seeding disaster. Meanwhile S Carolina, Bama, Ole Miss and even Miami sit and could have been very competitive. Raise hell tomorrow, I intend to. What a shite start to a playoff system we have waited 50 years for. I am not amused. Not complicated, follow the money, just go to Vegas to get the odds and pecking order......THEY KNOW.

LSU FOOTBALL HP back inside as a backer?🤔…if he decides to come back of course

With the recent additions up front and with much better talent in the trenches(young studs coming back and with new studs coming in)
Which ultimately can result to teams having to double our guys up front….And from that will help to free up our linebackers to flow to ball easily in space
My question for yall is…
Do yall think Perk can move back inside and be able to thrive and wreck havoc?
Unlike this past season bc he didn’t have dudes to free him up and let him do what he can do best in open space😒🤦🏽‍♂️

LSU FOOTBALL 12/21 Brian Kelly Media Availability

  • They needed more time to develop young players in their program, so they wanted to bring in some veteran players to help out this year. They have a great nucleus, but they needed to add some elite talent to it. Thinks they'll have a SEC Championship roster.
  • Says Nuss came back to win a championship. He's been sitting in on some dinners with transfers because he wants to help sway them to LSU.
  • Nuss has no more limitations from his shoulder injury.
  • He said he expected 12 portal additions a couple weeks back, but says it will probably be closer to 15 when it's all said and done.
  • They were looking for a big bodied receiver in the portal, and that's why they got Nic Anderson.
  • Says every guy is excited to keep playing in the bowl game. He's been in situations where they need to keep their team engaged, but this year isn't like that.
  • There will be some first time starters in this game. Didn't list specifics.
  • Trey'Dez is working at tight end again. Wants to see his blocking improve over these couple weeks. Says he really wants to improve as a blocker.
  • They wanted to get a DB with some versatility. They think Mansoor Delane can play both CB and S. They would be happy if they can only play him at CB, but will play him at S if they need to.
  • Ju'Juan Johnson will be a RB through the bowl game and then they'll sit down with him and decide where his future is.
  • Javien Toviano is now at safety and they're very pleased with his development there. He's getting first-team reps there. He's going to stay there moving forward.
  • Says there will be some transfer news in the next 24 hours that he can't talk about, but are done on their end. Mentions the OL that needs some work and the backend of their defense.

OFF TOPIC What the top 75 college sports programs are worth

Thought this was interesting ; but not really a surprise.

LSU at #13 Program Worth ; and on the actual football field last season

Adding Texas upped the ante ; but still i expect LSU in the SEC Championship game once every 4 years!

It isn’t surprising that the top of the list is dominated by SEC and Big Ten schools — due largely to each conference’s massive media rights deals.

In aggregate, the SEC is worth roughly $13.3 billion, an average of about $832 million per school; followed by the Big Ten at about $13.2 billion, an average of roughly $734 million per school; the ACC at roughly $10 billion, or about $558 million per school; and the Big 12, at roughly $6.7 billion, or about $420 million per school.
