All the media was waiting at the indoor facility, and right before practice started, they changed to outside, so unfortunately we only got to see about 12 minutes of practice today, but here's what I got for y'all in the limited time we had.
  • AJ Swann took second team reps in the two of the three drills we saw today. He and Collins continue to switch back and forth.
  • The offense went through some of their plays with no defense, but Collins hit Javen Nicholas on a beautiful deep ball that traveled a good 40+ yards through the air.
  • We saw them working on some throwing on the run, and everyone looked solid. Swann had a bit less zip on his ball than the other three, but all were hitting their targets some 20+ yards down field.
  • When watching Bo Davis and the DT's, the main focus was on hand placement. Almost every rep he was talking to his guys afterwards about what they could do better with their hands.
  • Tyree Adams has had himself a very nice spring at RT. He took over for Emery Jones when he was out for a practice, and since then, he's been running with the 2nd team, but has impressed. Same goes for DJ Chester. He's been first team center all spring, but he's looked very good for a redshirt sophomore.
  • PJ Woodland continues to take first team reps alongside Ashton Stamps. Toviano and JK Johnson take most of the second team reps. Have seen those groups switch a bit throughout spring, but Woodland certainly looks like he's in position to see the field as a freshman if he keeps playing the way he is right now.
  • Josh Williams continues to dominate first team RB reps. Sloan said he likes the vets presence, but Kaleb Jackson is certainly going to get a lot of work as well, but right now, they look like JW is their No. 1.
  • Aaron Anderson has all but cemented himself as a top-three WR on this team. He, Kyle Parker and CJ Daniels have all taken first team reps this spring, but Anderson has consistently been with the ones for the past four or five practices.
  • Shelton Sampson might not see the field much this year. Haven't seen him move out of the third team and he has at least six WR's above him on the depth chart.
