From Emery: LSU was pushing, but UGA was doing so harder. Said he feels the love from LSU more post-commitment. One major factor here is the attention of Kevin Faulk. Technically, Faulk is not a member of LSU's staff, but Director of Player Relations. Faulk could play a key role in the Tigers' push.
No official visit plans, yet, but more likely than not, he will take all 5 before December signing day.
Per sources familiar w\ the situation: LSU was inconsistent communicating. UGA, meanwhile, was consistent and pushed hard, thanks to Dell McGee and Cortez Hankton. They viewed UGA as a program on the come-up, whereas there are questions regarding Orgeron's future in Baton Rouge and the whole staff. Mickey Joseph was a key reason why LSU was up there. His relationship w\ emery Sr. dates back years and years.
There are also questions on Tommie Robinson and what he could do for John's development. At Michigan, for instance, Jay Harbaugh gave John tips on how to improve balance, which John used in the spring. Same goes for Dell McGee, who provided unique tips. There is concern Robinson is too old-school in comparison.
The Emery's went to UGA -- not to commit -- but wound up doing so because the staff was able to blow them away. Future in the NFL, no pressure to commit and good push from UGA freshman QB Justin Fields. Represents a bright future in Athens, Ga.
Since, Orgeron and T-Rob and Mickey have all touched base w\ John and his family. So has Faulk.
