LSU may not be able to officially host prospects, but that doesn’t mean those prospects can’t visit on their own and that's exactly what's taking place in Baton Rouge this weekend.
We’ve confirmed with multiple sources that a large group of recruits and their families will be in town for an informal get together with commitments and targets, similar to the "Sooner Summit" and the recent Georgia get together with recruits.
Due to the coronavirus-caused NCAA dead period, the Tigers coaching staff can't have any in-person interactions with the recruits while they are in town.
LSU quarterback commitment Garrett Nussmeier helped organize the event with his parents. We've heard roughly 15 names so far, potentially many more will be attending, but I won't go into all the details until everyone is in town and can be confirmed.
A few names I have confirmed though, are; obviously Nussmeier and Korey Foreman, who's already in route, according to his dad, Maason Smith, Chris Hilton, Raesjon Davis and Tristan Leigh.
In fact, Leigh and his family will be in Baton Rouge for back-to-back weekends, his mother confirmed to me. The family scheduled the weekend of Sept. 12 months ago, she said.
Clearly Foreman, Smith and Leigh are huge targets, but they aren't the only big-names supposed to be attending.
Check back later once guys are in town and we can give a few more details.
