LSU held its fifth practice of spring drills Tuesday afternoon. Members of the media were allowed to watch about 20 minutes of practice.

The Tigers scrimmaged during part of their practice last Saturday. There appeared to be no depth chart changes except for injuries following the scrimmage.

No. 1 offense
WR: DJ Chark (outside)
WR: Drake Davis (outside)
WR: Russell Gage (slot)
TE: Foster Moreau
LT: K.J. Malone
LG: Garrett Brumfield
C: Lloyd Cushenberry
RG: Maea Teuhema
RT: Jakori Savage
QB: Danny Etling
TB: Darrel Williams
FB: John David Moore

The quarterbacks were having a tough time throwing the football accurately today. It seems that Justin McMillan is the No. 2 quarterback at this time. The receivers were not helping the quarterbacks out. Dee Anderson had at least one drop. Derrius Guice was not at practice. Coach Ed Orgeron said that he suffered a sprained ankle during the scrimmage. That's why Williams worked with the first offense Tuesday. Orgeron said that Guice's injury is not serious. The passing game has a ways to go. Tight end Jamal Pettigrew is out with an ankle injury.

No. 1 defense
DE: Frank Herron
DE: Rashard Lawrence
NT: Greg Gilmore
OLB: Corey Thompson
ILB: Donnie Alexander
ILB: Devin White
OLB: Andre Anthony
CB: Kevin Toliver
CB: Donte Jackson
S: John Battle
S: Ed Paris

Christian LaCouture is having some minor issues with his knee, so he sat out practice. Anthony continues to shine at Arden Key's pass rushing outside linebacker spot. Sci Martin suffered a knee injury Saturday. It could be serious. The indication that Martin may be out for a while is that Ray Thornton was shifted from the drop outside linebacker spot to the pass rushing outside linebacker position. Alexander and White look good at inside linebacker. Cornerback Greedy Williams was missing from practice. Orgeron said that he should be back in a few days. Despite all the losses, the defense appears to be deeper than the offense. There is a lack of depth at wide receiver and tight end. There is no such area on the defense. Young players like Lawrence, Glen Logan, Ed Alexander, Michael Divinity, Anthony, Xavier Lewis and Savion Smith appear to be ready to jump into the rotation. The same is not true for some areas on offense.

LSU will have its next practice Thursday.
