Evening, gents - sorry I'm chiming in so late on this, I've been out of town and away from the computer.

I can't understand what the hell the Saints were thinking with the whole Chris Olave debacle. You have to go back to the Ricky Williams trade to find something as bumbling as this ended up being. I'm not saying that Olave is a bad player or anything - he's solid enough, but he's not a true #1 and wasn't even the best WR on his college team last year.

What? It's all about value, you say? Well, let's see what the drafting of Chris Olave cost the Saints...

Between the trade with the Eagles where they basically swapped #18 and #19 before the Saints ante'd up a buttload for #16 and then the trade with the Washington (I refuse to call them the 'Commanders'... 'Capitulators' might fit better) so that they could move from #16 to #11, this is what they gave up:

1st rounder (2023)
2nd rounder (2024)
3rd rounder (2022)
3rd rounder (2022)
4th rounder (2022)
7th rounder (2022)

Oh, and they picked up the Air Force kid who is unlikely to be on any NFL roster by 2024, don't want to forget him.

Was Chris Olave really worth whatever WR we could have gotten at 16 (like Dotson from Penn State or Burks from Arkansas) PLUS the players they could have gotten with those other five picks? Hell, you probably could have gotten another late 1st round pick in return for the 2nd, two 3rd's, 4th, and 7th... that's almost an entire draft right there.

They've made some good decisions in the recent past but I just don't get this one at all. I think it was lunacy at best. They ended up looking like one of those dumb-ass robot teams I take advantage of on the draft simulator...
