In reading the article by Lazare on Gilmore and Bower I was struck by something that Bower, a very intelligent player., said.
“This defense is just something different which LSU has not done before,” Bower said. “You try to make something look like one thing when it really is another. We are going to try to get as many mismatches as we can.
“You really have to know your assignment. We have great athletes, but we have to be mentally strong. We have to get to the point where we do everything right.”
More than anything else I have seen this verified the difference in the Aranda defense and past LSU defenses and states the objective and requirements of the Aranda defense. As I have stated several times You will see something different in defense that has not been seen in the SEC and not much in college football. IMO there could be some early rowing pains, but it should work if LSU has the key personnel.
