Is that we beat a damn good football team last night. That wasn't McNeese, Jacksonville St. or the like that we were playing out there. It was a very good SEC football team with one of the best game-day coaches in the game and the kind of QB that we sometimes talk about on here who, even with less talent is capable of being THE reason his team won.
I know some folks say that they lost too many good players to be any good, but they fielded some pretty good replacements for most of them to go along with their returning people. MSU will win its share of games this year
So before we start finding other reasons for the closeness of the game, such as penalties, coaching errors, questionable play calling, home field advantage, etc.,etc. I think you have to consider that we were engaged with a damn capable and still very formidable opponent.
