At 57 years old and a former player I have seen much change in College Football. Alabama has taking PIPED IN ARTIFICIAL NOISE to another level. I first saw it done at Florida about 7 years ago. But at Bama they are maximizing their home field advantage. Now please note I am not a sore looser. I just find what I am about to explain going to far and to watch the game in the stadium very annoying and going to far for opposing teams.
When an offensive play is over at Bama for visiting team (LSU) immediately the multi million dollar loud speaker starts its recordings. Most of the time it is the screaming voice of strength and conditioning coach Cochran. He does not stop and the piped in noise does not stop until the QB is almost over center to take the snap. If not for the loud speaker noise the stadium noise from fans would be much much much quieter at Bama. Their fan base does not work as hard with yelling as Tiger fans. Now they do wave their Pom Poms.
Anyway. I will write a letter to our AD. Not as a sore looser. But simply stating what I believe is taking it to far to create an exaggerated home field advantage and taking away from the game. If you go to Vandy and other schools less willing and able to put in a million $$$ system or unwilling to take the game in a different direction I think it's unfare to far being unfare. Bama totally maximizes its home field advantage with piped in noise, videos to wear on your psychology, fan locations in stadium, etc all making it an extreme uphill battle for visiting teams.
But my biggest complaint is the piped in artificial noise. Where do you stop it. It needs to be regulated.
