P4 ADs are questioning the wisdom of scheduling OOC P4 opponents risking an additional loss

SEC teams chewed each other up this year …only 3 made the playoff

LSU played TWO P4 teams OOC in 2024

It seems that poor strength of schedule didn’t hurt teams like N Dame , SMU , Boise St , even Indiana SOS was weak
Of course fans pay for tickets and don’t enjoy games vs cup cakes

So what is the best strategy if your goal is to make the playoffs , please fans , have a glowing W-L record

LSU BASKETBALL LSU vs FGCU Matt McMahon Presser Notes

  • Pleased with how they started the game. Shot the ball well in the first half and played really solid defense.
  • Liked their front court production without Reed. Collins had a career-high and Chest had a double-double.
  • Calls Chest one of the most natural rebounders he's ever coached.
  • Thought Daimion was really effective as a passer and shooter. Thought his package was on full display.
  • Thought in the first half, they gave up too many offensive rebounds. They could've had a much bigger halftime lead if they were better at rebounding early.
  • Were concerned that FGCU would try to slow the game down, but they were able to play at their own pace.
  • Said they had some bad gambles late in the game which let FGCU make the score closer. Not excited about the last few minutes, but it happy for a win.
  • Thinks Boyde can bring a big bodied presence to this team. Got his first minutes today and the build up will be gradual, but thinks he'll help them down the road.
