It's the most wonderful time of the year!
The portal starts popping
Our re-cruits start dropping
The bowl games are near.
It's the most wonderful time year!

Its the hap happiest season of all.
N, I, L, keeps missing
and 5- Stars keep switching
When teams come to call
Its the hap happiest season of all

Aggressive portals signings
While fans start their whining
Bout the DE we got from Holy Cross
While others hold dear
all the old glory years
Of the championships long long ago!

Its the most wonderful time of the year
So hold on to your sheets
Brian Kelly has receipts.
Says, A championship's near
Its the most wonderful time...
Its the most wonderful time...
Its the most wonderful time of the year.

LSU BASKETBALL 12/02 LSU Men's Basketball Media Availability Notes

Matt McMahon
  • Calls FSU elite defensively. 4th in steal percentage, 5th in block percentage.
  • FSU is very balanced offensively, play 10 guys consistently.
  • Says FSU is not similar to any team they've played this year. They cause a lot more havoc on defense than anyone they've played.
  • They've been studying what's happening on offense in the first half vs second half. Thinks they're stagnant at times in the first half.
  • Thinks ball security is always important, but especially in this game.
  • Says Vyctorius Miller hasn't shot the three ball as well as he can, so it'll be scary when he starts knocking the three down.
  • Says rebounding has been Jalen Reed's biggest step this year.
  • Calls the non-conference games big opportunities. Looks like most SEC games will be Quad 1 games, so they need to get these big wins out of conference, like their two Big 12 wins.
  • Daimion Collins is slowly working back. Back on the court yesterday for the first time, doesn't want to rush him.
Jalen Reed
  • Proud of the resilience they showed in the first seven games, but they're focusing on starting faster.
  • Says he's got good chemistry with Corey Chest because of practices last year. Says it's been a seamless transition for him in the starting lineup.
  • When they start the game, they're on the opposite end of the court than the coaches, so he feels they've had some organization problems, but they're working on fixing it.
  • Excited for the game tomorrow vs Florida State.
  • Thinks it's important to finish the non-conference with wins so they have a strong resume heading into the postseason tournament.
  • Playing the 5 position is new to him, but he feels he has a better understanding of the position which has helped him play better this year.
  • He put a lot of work into how to be a better screener this offseason, which has opened up opportunities for him and his teammates.
  • Says Vyctorius Miller is a freshman, but he's a pro. Says he has pro habits.
Cam Carter
  • Called playing at LSU and being back home in Louisiana a dream.
  • Calls FSU a good, aggressive team with a lot of size. Says they have a plan to attack them.
  • Doesn't want to come into games and force some shots right away. Says he tries to get a feel for the game before he starts chucking up shots, which has led to some slow starts.
  • Says it's like Chest has a magnet in his hand for rebounds.
  • Thinks a lot of their turnovers are careless. They haven't played a team that's forced a lot of TOs, it's been mental mistakes from themselves.
  • When they play their four guard lineup, it allows them to switch a lot on defense which throws some team's offenses off.

RECRUITING How the Bryce Underwood flip came to be

We've heard all the talk about Michigan's massive NIL deal being the cause for flipping Underwood, but how'd it come to be? Well, Barstool owner, Dave Portnoy, revealed that he and Larry Ellison (the 5th richest man in the world) got on a call with Ellison's wife (Michigan alum) and discussed the fact that they couldn't stand Michigan not being the best team on the field every Saturday, so they set up a call with Underwood and his family and negotiated terms with them.

Remember, at the start of 2023, Jim Harbaugh was suspended three games for buying a recruit a hamburger on a visit.

Crazy stuff.
