LSU BASEBALL LSU vs Nicholls State post game presser

Jay Johnson
  • Stands by calling Tommy the best hitter in the country.
  • Thinks they’ve looked more like themselves offensively recently.
  • Thinks guys are taking more confident at bats which has resulted in them scoring in more innings.
  • Pleased with his bullpens outing tonight. Also happy with Kades performance.
  • Said Milam has been much more selective with his pitches which has allowed him to drive the ball better.
Kade Anderson
  • He’s been working on making his tempo faster and feels it helps him get into a better rhythm.
  • Thinks his curveball has gotten better, but he’s also picked up a slider mid season which has allowed him to mix pitches more. Takes some pressure off so he can throw an off speed for strike.
  • Says Gage and Thatcher have taught him how to throw his slider.
  • He’s been changing his change up grip to try to figure out what he likes the best.
  • Says his curveball is his go to strike out pitch.
Michael Braswell
  • Says he’s getting more comfortable throughout the season. He’s been making some adjustments and improving his process at the plate.
  • His whole offensive game is about only swinging at pitches he can drive.
  • Calls Jared jones homer one of the furthest homers he’s seen.
  • Says his fielding woes were mental early in the season and feels he’s been more confident recently, which had resulted in better results. Has to remind himself that he’s a good defender when he has bad days.

Quick update on four-star DB Charles Bass. He's got OV's locked in with Illinois and Arkansas, wants to get one scheduled with LSU among others like Nebraska, Cincinnati and a return trip to Missouri well.

Has some interest in LSU as they are one of his top schools. So keep an eye on him for a potential summer official visit, as he looks to have his decision made prior to the start of his senior year.
