LSU FOOTBALL LSU +16 v Ga

Early line is out and is just about what I expected it to be

Neither team has remaining games that will drastically affect the spread
Of course it will move a bit and key injuries will come into play

Share your thoughts . But please remove those P&G and set aside the purple Kool-Aid first😎😎

The night our season changed course

We all thought the ship sailed on getting former Louisiana native, and excellent Cypress Park Texas LB prospect, #4
to return home. And then this happened, and frankly we were never the same again. Also "Griddy" dancing
is fellow freshmen Jordy Allen and LaTerrence Welch; and Jacoby Matthews. While I am thinking about
it, did anyone else see Kendrick Law at slot against Mississippi; he looked quick and thick and made some
Yac (yards after catch). Matthews and Law
I suspect, are on Kelly's "Louisiana Come Home Board" or is it, "Callin Baton Rouge Board". Either way
enjoy again the timeless classic, the night we got Perk! Hopefully this weekend our next Cypress Park Backer
Christian Braithewaite, Griddies his way to Baton Rouge as well!

SEC A look at the SEC West

As 2022 season nears the end could we take a look at the SEC West teams

Alabama …it always starts with Alabama. Does two losses really signal the demise of
the Evil Genius ? I’m not ready to buy that just yet. When Bryce leaves there will
be a void

Auburn …almost as dysfunctional as our rivals to our west . A good coach can win
there despite all the turmoil . Can they ever find a decent QB

Arkansas …was 2021 merely a mirage . I’m not sure that Sam Pittman has righted that
ship . Can they ever recruit there enough to win championships?

Ole Miss … Lane has that program as high as possible . Credit to him for fielding a
competitive team . They hope that he isn’t lured away ..Auburn, Arizona State

Miss State …The Pirate was a reach and is now wallowed in mediocrity . Another place
thats difficilt to recruit . Many believed that the Leach system wouldn‘t play in
the SEC . They were right

Texas A&M …now the laughing stock of college football . When you out recruit and out spend you set yourself up for failure

Just wait until Texas and Oklahoma arrive

Generally it’s been a disappointing year for all but The Mighty Tigers

Would like to hear your thoughts on this

LSU FOOTBALL LSU No.4

Currently the selection committee has the Tigers sitting at No.6

if they win the last two regular season games they could move to No.4
….the OSU/ Michigan loser moves down
….TCU drops one of their last two games

This would set up Georgia No.1 vs LSU No.4 clash in Atlanta

LSU. No.4 …..has a nice ring to it 😋

I feel like I'm hearing too much Play-Off talk...

I mean, obviously it's fun to discuss and debate, and I'm f'ing thrilled that LSU is doing so well and ahead of schedule to boot... but all of this CFB Play-Off discussion presupposes two pretty important wins we don't even have yet.

As much as we (myself in particular) enjoys laughing at A&M's misfortune, they are still a talented team. They're playing us at home in what will be their senior day and they're not bowl eligible so it'll be their bowl game as well. Nothing would help salvage the season more than to go out on a win against a hated rival so you can bet Fisher and company will throw everything and the kitchen sink at us. I think we win, but I damn sure don't want those kids mind on the SECCG much less the CFB Play-Offs when they head over there.

And then there's Georgia. Undefeated #1 defending national champion Georgia who just defeated the undefeated team that beat us 40 to 13. We might have a puncher's chance in that game - might - but I wouldn't put money on it no matter what the spread is.

I not saying we shouldn't be excited or ponder the possibilities... it's just that around town, online, on the radio - all I'm hearing is play-off talk. I don't think that's where our head should be right now. The last thing I want to do is diminish this team's tremendous accomplishments this year by immediately laying a ridiculous expectation on them and setting a new, almost impossible bar for a successful season.

LSU DC Matt House nominated for Broyles Award

LSU defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Matt House is among 51 coaches from across the country who are nominees for the 2022 Broyles Award, which is presented annually to the top assistant coach in college football.

The Broyles Award was created in 1996 recognizing legendary coach Frank Broyles’ legacy of selecting and developing outstanding assistants during his hall of fame career at Arkansas.

The 51 nominees in this year’s class were selected from approximately 1,500 assistant coaches representing 131 FBS programs across the country. The Broyles Award selection process includes members of the Football Writers Association of America, broadcasters, a college football hall of fame committee and current college head coaches.

In his first year with the Tigers, House has transformed the LSU defense, taking a unit that returned only three starters from a year ago and molded it into one of the best in the SEC. The Tigers are currently riding a 4-game winning streak, have climbed to as high as No. 6 in the nation, and have secured a spot in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia.

Some of the highlights for the LSU defense under House include: held Top 10 ranked Ole Miss scoreless for the final 44 minutes in a 45-20 victory; held Alabama without a TD in the first half for first time all year and limited Crimson Tide to just nine points through three quarters (fewest all season) in the win; and held Arkansas to its fewest points (10), rushing yards (121) and total yards (237) all season.

Individual standouts on the LSU defense include linebacker Harold Perkins, who has twice been named SEC Defensive Player of the Week as well as Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week along with defensive end BJ Ojulari, who has earned SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors twice in 2022.

LSU’s defense goes into the UAB game ranked among the SEC leaders in points allowed (21.0), total defense (347.2 yards per game), turnovers gained (16), and redzone defense (75.6 percent).
