Some Clarity for Me.

Many have criticized the administration and head coach for many things, and I have certainly been in that number on both fronts. While I still believe Ed's qualifications for THIS job are lacking. I have come to realize and understand just how bad it is for this coach and the previous coach's with regards to dealing with the administration and more specifically the Athletic Director. A lot of people have complained about Joe Alleva but I really believe it is worse than it actually appears. You always have to take what you read and hear with a grain of salt because you never really know the veracity of the source. But let me say this, because I know it to be true and because it highlights just how stupid Joe Alleva is.

Many were disappointed that we had to settle for our Offensive coordinator. Many including myself blamed ED. Ed gets a total pass from me on his staff decisions from now on as long as Alleva is here.

Doug Nussmeier desperately wanted to work for LSU. He had several more lucrative offers from top schools but wanted to come to LSU and was willing to do it for very, very cheap. Partly because Money isn't an issue (Florida is still paying him) and mostly because he wanted his son to finish school his school here. Ed wanted him badly. Joe Alleva totally screwed it up. I am told dealing with him was ridiculous. Doug's only real requirement was he wanted a 2 year deal so his son could finish school in 1 spot and he could be close. Joe refused anything more than a 1 year deal even at such a low salary. So, Doug works for Jerry Jones now.

How can we expect any coach, much less one who is heavily dependent on his coordinators to be successful if we refuse to allow him to hire his people. We are doomed as long as Alleva is around.

OFF TOPIC My bracket died!

I was 8 for 8 in the day games but I just lost in my upset pick of Davidson over Kentucky as well as my San Diego St over Houston pick! Now I need the Bonnies to upset Florida to pull this back together! Oh yeah, and that has to be the only upset of the night!

LSU FOOTBALL Personnel notes from Orgeron - Thursday

Quarterbacks Myles Brennan, Lowell Narcisse and Justin McMilan are even.

The top three wide receivers are Jonathan Giles, Stephen Sullivan and Justin Jefferson.

Damien Lewis may work at center. Lewis will probably get reps at different positions. LSU will play the 5 best offensive linemen. One would think Garrett Brumfield and Ed Ingram are locked in at guard.

Safety Grant Delpit will miss from one to two weeks. No reason was given.

LSU FOOTBALL Tyler Taylor Soph = Devin White Soph

Devin White saw some PT in his freshman year but wasn't able to crack the starting lineup
He had a super Soph campaign and should be preseason All American
The light obviously went on once he adjusted to college football and made that freshman to Soph jump

Tyler Taylor was less heralded than Jacob Phillips but immediately caught Dave Aranda's attention . He started games when Alexander was injured .
He has a great role model in the hard working Devin White
There no reason to think that Taylor as a Soph can't be just as good as Devin White was as a Soph

Imagine that tandem if Taylor has a Soph season like White .
