USC linebacker and former four-star recruit Tackett Curtis entered the transfer portal today. Curtis, a Louisiana product, played with current LSU commit Tylen Singleton (Class of 2024) at Many.

Class of 2024 pledge Joseph Cryer posted a picture with Curtis above the report with a tiger emoji then deleted it. We don’t have anything more than that, but Curtis is certainly a guy to keep your eyes on.

RECRUITING Signing Day Primer: The Latest heading into early signing day

We're now about 24 hours away from the start of National Signing Day. Tomorrow is the early national signing day for Division 1 football, and we'll have plenty of coverage throughout the day. With that said, wanted to drop a little bit of a news and notes.

Current Commitments
Should be a pretty drama free day for Brian Kelly and staff on Wednesday. Not expecting any surprises or late flips from any of the current commits and everyone seems eager to sign and move on to the next stage of their respective careers.

We'll have a Signing Day Central thread that we'll start tomorrow, and we'll post the signings after they've been reviewed by compliance etc. and are "official".

Keny also has a thread here with a some of the ceremony times and details.

The Latest from the recruiting trail on other targets

Katy Texas interior lineman Coen Echols was a guy that Brian Kelly and staff tried to close late in the process after his decommitment from Texas A&M. They managed to get him on campus for a visit over the weekend and appears to be a battle between Auburn and LSU but all of the buzz leading into and after his visit has been centered around Auburn. It's not the most confident FutureCast pick I've ever logged but I did put a FutureCast in this morning for Echols to Auburn.

Echols will be announcing his decision on Friday, which is the last day of the early signing period.

LSU continues to turn up the heat on Dominick Mckinley's recruitment. He was a top target prior to his commitment to Texas A&M and the LSU staff continues to prioritize the 6-foot-6, 270-pound defender and it really feels like there's been a swing of momentum in the Tigers direction. One of the big reasons that McKinley committed to Texas A&M was his relationship with then defensive line coach Elijah Robinson. Well Robinson has since accepted a new position with Syracuse as defensive coordinator which really weakens to the Aggie hold on McKinley.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly and recruiting ace Frank Wilson made the short trip to Lafayette last week for an in-home visit with McKinley and his family. We were told the visit went well for all parties and there was even more positivity brewing for LSU after the visit.

The biggest news that came from that visit was Dominick McKinley's decision to not only postpone his NLI signing into February, but he also scheduled an official visit to Baton Rouge for January 12-14 which gives the Tigers their best chance to close McKinley. Getting this visit is a huge deal and both the postponement and the official visit are big wins for the LSU staff. The other school trying to flip him is Oklahoma. McKinley will certainly be one to continue monitoring as we close out the final months of the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Another TAMU commitment that has postponed his decision is Rivals five-star athlete Terry Bussey, who is now planning to sign in February. He'll be another name to monitor over the final months. LSU is still a contender here though it feels a lot of that buzz has died down a bit. Texas A&M is still the likely favorite as of today, but a lot can change in a month's time. He's going to take that time to continue getting familiar with the new staff at Texas A&M, but will also still talk to suitors like LSU. Alabama and USC appear to be trying to make a late surge for Bussey. Right now it still feels like Texas A&M, but there's definitely plenty of time for these other programs to make a statement and flip one of the top prospects in Texas.

Check back early and often tomorrow as we launch and update our National Signing Day Central thread.

Here’s the full list for anyone interested:

RECRUITING Linebackers

LSU LB recruiting this year maybe off the charts good. Keys, Adkins, and Cobbins are all 3 really top recruits. Atkins and Keys just played in TX HS state championship games. Atkins has been nominated to theTX HS player of the year group. Keys was Defensive Player of the year in His district. There are a lot of people who think he is the most underrated player in the country. Cobbins is the top lB in LA and one of the top 5 players in LA.

With Perkins, Penn and the Weeks brothers plus these guys LB should be really strong next year and for a number of years.Howard may also come along and contribute.
