So the new odds are out right now on the Heisman race and Daniels is inexplicably 4th in the rankings. Ahead of him are Bo Nix as the HEAVY favorite (-150), then Penix (+250), then Marvin Harrison Jr. (+500) before we get to Daniels at (+800). Harrison should be a red herring imo, he's there because of his name recognition and Ohio State - after all, he's a WR who doesn't lead the nation in receiving (an LSU WR does that) or in TD's (another LSU WR does that), so whatever.
The two QB's ahead of him, on the other hand? Well, let's look at the comparative stats at this point:
Jayden Daniels
Passing:
195-273 (71.4%) for 3,164 yards (11.6 avg), 30 TD's 4 INT
Rushing:
114 for 918 (8.1 avg), 8 TD's
Totals:
4,082 yards, 38 TD's
Bo Nix
Passing:
258-332 (77.7%) for 3,135 yards (9.4 avg), 29 TD's 2 INT
Rushing:
38 for 121 (3.2 avg), 5 TD's
Totals:
3,256 yards, 34 TD's
Michael Penix
Passing:
249-366 (68.0%) for 3,533 yards (9.7 avg), 28 TD's 7 INT
Rushing:
20 for -27 (-1.4 avg), 2 TD's
Totals:
3,506 yards, 30 TD's
So Daniels has 300 yards and 8 TD's more than Penix and 500 yards and 4 TD's more than Nix with much better yards per attempt and yards per carry than either one of them... it's really not even close.
Either we're on the verge of the ultimate screw-job or you guys need to start dropping some wagers and rake in this free money.
