OFF TOPIC Garrett Nussmeier could stay in Louisiana after college...

Garrett's dad, Doug Nussmeier, was just hired as the Saints offensive coordinator. We all know the Saints aren't likely to be good this year and need a quarterback, so if they end up with a top pick in next years draft, they could end up selecting Garrett. Fun little thought for the LSU/Saints fans here.

OFF TOPIC I think there is a way NIL could be improved with minimal effort.

When Jamrcus Russell signed with the Raiders he received a contract that guaranteed 52 million in addition to his full contract; Russell' initial contract was more than what most if not all veteran NFL QBs , including Peyton Manning, were making. The absolute foolishnes of the preceding imo led to the NFL capping rookie contracts.
I'm not sure of the legality but it sure seems NIL ( cough, cough) agreements could be done the same way, i. e. cap NIL payments to incoming hs players. One of the problems with NIL money as I see it is unproven hs players getting more money than players who have been in the system 2 or more years.

OFF TOPIC Preseason polls:

I can't think of anything currently more precarious then preseason polls. At one time preseason polls were based in part on how teams finished the year , who was returning , etc.. However, now imo it has become a real crapshoot. With roster turnover how can anyone predict the upcoming season. Consider this ; LSU signed 23 hs players and 15 or so portal players, that's basically half the roster being filled with new faces. LSU's portal additions have been rather tame compared to a lot of schools. Even the playoff teams have had significant roster turnover. How can anyone make sense of the preceding? Like I posted earlier preseason polls have become a real crapshoot with many teams turning over half their rosters.
