RECRUITING Recruiting Nugget: Joseph Stone

Got a text back from Joseph "JoJo" Stone. I had reached out to him over the weekend to ask about Bayou Splash and he finally hit me back up. Nothing earth shattering here but he's definitely been playing his part to try and get some of these other highly rated prospects to Baton Rouge especially at Bayou Splash.

"Bayou Splash was great," Stone told me via text. "The current commits and high school recruits got to bond and get a feel for each other."

He certainly had his recruiting hat on during the visit and was trying to get in the ear of Caden Duran and Colin Simmons are some of LSU's priority targets right now.

"A couple players I think would be great in Baton Rouge are Caden Durham and Colin Simmons," He said. I am also very glad we got big O (Ory Williams) to commit. I love his character and engergy 100-percent."

In regard to his commitment, he seems about as solid as they come. I didn't get the feeling he'd be entertaining any other offers moving forward.

"LSU is where I want to go, and I feel Death Valley is where I want to make plays."

Montverde (FL) Monteverde Academy PG Curtis Givens III is on campus visiting LSU today.

LSU is among seven schools he's still considering. Other schools include the likes of Memphis, Texas, UConn, Georgia Tech, Indiana and Villanova.

We'll work on getting an update, should be wrapping up soon if not already.

OFF TOPIC I feel like a new man today

Josh, with the locking of the thread and your response under Future of Tiger Details, I can see I struck a nerve. I am willing to stipulate that everyone on both sides were not happy with the way this transaction went down.

I don't really have any questions. However, I think I can speak for the entire board when I say, if Rivals would just bump all of our team commitments a star, then all will be forgotten.

Anybody old enough to remember Dick Maile….

A great guy who played some fantastic basketball for the Tigers in the 60’s? All SEC 2 or 3 years. All American as a senior. Came to LSU from Kentucky in the Adolph Rupp dynasty days because he idolized Bob Pettit. Thought about him tonight as I was watching Jake Fraley (former Tiger star) playing for the Reds against the Cubs. Reds catcher is a Luke Maile, and when they did a close up …. Had to be. Looked him up - Dick Maile’s grandson. Somebody needs to tell Jake he’s got some more Tiger blood in that Cincy lineup!

And Dick’s impressive athletic lineage didn’t begin and doesn’t end with Luke.

OFF TOPIC Some personal news…

Wanted to share this with the board before I post on social media. This upcoming week will be my last covering LSU football and recruiting for TigerDetails. I can’t thank Jimmy enough for the last four+ years. We’ve been co-workers and friends for a decade now. I’ve learned a lot from him about the game and recruiting in general. Same with Jerit and Ron.

The last year has been challenging with work and home life with two kids now. We all know football and recruiting is 24/7, 365 and I’m still working on balancing it all.

Looking forward to my next chapter and getting a little more family time. Before anyone asks, you won’t see me at a competitor anytime soon. That’s not what this is about. I do plan on staying active in the local sports community but still unsure how I want that to look for my schedule. Y’all can stay in touch via email (Julieboudwin@gmail.com) or Twitter (@julie_boudwin).

Appreciate each of you, truly. Now I’m off to camp to interview some Tigers and watch some campers at Nicholls. I’ll have some stories coming from the camp.

LSU FOOTBALL future of tiger details?

Obviously changes are happening with Julie leaving the site. Just curious if anyone has heard what the future looks like for tiger details? Jimmy coming back to play the role Julie has had? Someone else in the works? I have enjoyed my experience here since Jimmy took over and would love to keep the standard that has been set. But it seems nearly impossible to fill Julie's shoes if I'm being honest. What are your thoughts?

LSU FOOTBALL Sportsbook: A look at LSU offerings on Bet MGM

This is a little bit of a sneak-peek into a bigger more detailed piece coming for the future where Jermaine is going to break down LSU's Team Total one by one with his prediction of where he thinks the Tigers stand in regard to hitting the over/under on the Team Total.

This is a look at the current lines offered on LSU at Bet MGM.

We'll also be featuring quite a bit of Sportsbook talk and content here in the future for those that are interested in that stuff.

LSU FOOTBALL What the Ory Williams commitment means for LSU

At the time I wrote this, it was a much bigger feature and larger article that featured a prediction of what's to come for the class which was a prediction of the commitment of Joseph Cryer. Well, he committed a little sooner than I was hoping, so I had to remove that part from the article. But here's the feature with that piece of it removed.
