We only got 20 minutes today and it was a lot of the same drills that we've been seeing in the last few practices, but here's what we saw:
  • Aaron Anderson continues to run with the first team. This is the third straight practice we've seen him running alongside Kyren Lacy and Chris Hilton Jr. - both of whom have been with the one's every practice.
  • During one drill, this was the WR order: Kyren Lacy, Chris Hilton, Aaron Anderson, Kyle Parker, CJ Daniels, Shelton Sampson, Zaivion Thomas, Javen Nicholas
  • Rickie Collins led the second team offense today. It's been AJ Swann all spring, but they changed it up today. He also had some chances to show off his legs, and he looked pretty quick out there.
  • Jardin Gilbert and Major Burns took first team reps at S, as they've done all spring. Behind them was Dashwn McBride and Jordan Allen, two young and promising safeties. Sage Ryan was nickel.
  • Saw a few different guys take first team CB reps: Jyaire Brown, Ashton Stamps, JK Johnson and Javien Toviano. Expect that to be their main rotation barring something unexpected. PJ Woodland could sneak his way in there as a true freshman if he keeps playing well. We've seen him running with the two's recently.
  • After Harold Perkins, Greg Penn and Whit Weeks, it looks like West Weeks, Tylen Singleton and Christian Brathwaite are the next three LB's.
  • Kimo Makane'ole made the move to DT for the spring, but he's now officially listed as a DL instead of OL.
  • Josh Williams took first team reps, Kaleb Jackson took second team reps. After them, walk-on Malachai Lane is the guy taking the third team snaps. If Trey Holly's situation isn't resolved by the start of the season and LSU doesn't add a RB in the portal, he'll be the third stringer. Edit: Forgot about Caden Durham since he's not on campus, he'll almost certainly be RB3 over Lane.
  • In the last few minutes of practice, we saw the LB's and DB's do a tackling drill together. There was not contact, but the goal was the wrap the ball carrier up in the open field. The DB's looked really good, don't know if I saw one that would've obviously been a missed tackle, but the LB's took some bad angles and would've missed a few.
  • Zy Alexander remains present at every practice. He's always in a jersey and watching the CB's work from the sideline.
  • Early enrollee De'Myrion Johnson was absent from practice.
