Mike Elko …

i have a few doubts regarding the new Texas A& M savior

While acknowledging his expertise as a DC before taking his first HC job at Duke where his first year the Blue Devils finished 9-4 only to regress to 7-5 this year

The Texas high school coaching fraternity is a tight knit group . Aside from his two years as DC in College station his entire coaching career was spent in the Mid west

Just don't understand the Harrison hype...

After today, as best as I can figure it:

Marvin Harrison Jr.:
62 catches, 1,093 yards (17.6 ypc), 13 TD's

Malik Nabors:
80 catches, 1,424 yards (17.8 ypc), 12 TD's
Bryan Thomas Jr.:
55 catches, 1,021 yards (18.5 ypc), 14 TD's

Interestingly, the two LSU WR's together have averaged 67.5 catches, 1,222.5 yards (18.1 ypc), 13 TD's which collectively exceed Harrison's numbers.

LSU FOOTBALL Stock up…

All the talk is Jayden Daniels Heisman stock rise but a glance at JD’s latest NFL draft prospects has him going anywhere from 10-15 overall in most mock drafts

This is quite the jump from older projections

in addition to his obvious talent and production one thing that draft analysts love is the large number of college games that he’s started during his career

Bill Parcells always touted his preference for 4-5 year college QBs over less experienced ones

RECRUITING Georgia pledge Tae Harris keeps options open as more offers roll in

@Kenny Van Doren caught up with Georgia commit Tae Harris who has been getting a lot of added attention lately. Harris was in attendance on Saturday and had some interesting things to say about LSU.

RECRUITING **Updated 11/25 at 9:34 a.m.** Weekend Visitors: LSU vs. Texas A&M

We are two days out from LSU's final home game, the last opportunity to have recruits on campus for a game day atmosphere. I will update this thread with the recruits that will be in attendance Saturday as we get more info. Happy Thanksgiving.

Cortez Smith

Smith announced this morning he will be at Tiger Stadium this weekend. Georgia appears in the lead for the Class of 2025 four-star offensive guard, who ranks the 18th-best recruit in his home state.

Caleb Chester

Chester announced this afternoon he will also be at Tiger Stadium this weekend. LSU has yet to offer the Class of 2025 three-star cornerback from Missouri City, TX.

George MacIntyre

As expected, Macintyre will also be at Tiger Stadium this weekend. The four-star pro style quarterback has been highly sought out by Power Five programs as one of the top three at his position in the Class of 2025.

Alabama appears to be the frontrunner, but LSU is getting MacIntyre back on campus to round out the season. Tennessee is also making a push. Bryce Underwood's decision is one that many Tigers have their eyes on, and if he doesn't land with LSU, MacIntyre could take the full focus.

Terry Bussey

Bussey, a four-star athlete and Texas A&M commit, has been expected on campus this weekend for weeks. With Jimbo Fisher no longer the head coach in College Station, he is keeping his options open. We will look to confirm with Bussey on Friday if he is still taking a visit to LSU.

Jaden Hamlin

Hamlin received an offer from LSU last month as the four-star defensive tackle looks to make his way into Division I after playing at Southwest Mississippi C.C. He previously visited for the Auburn game Oct. 14 and is now expected to make an official visit this weekend. Georgia is also in the running for Hamlin.

Darius Afalava

Afalava is expected to make a trip to the south for his second stop in Baton Rouge this weekend. The four-star Class of 2025 offensive tackle visited LSU during the summer. With Skyridge High losing last week, it logistically makes sense he will make it down from Utah, but we are still trying to confirm with him.

UPDATE: Afalava told Death Valley Insider he will be in Baton Rouge all weekend, planning to visit with coaches after Saturday's game. He said he's "really looking forward to it."

Tae Harris

A four-star cornerback in the Class of 2025, Harris announced Tuesday he will be at LSU this weekend for his first visit to Tiger Stadium. Harris verbally committed to Georgia this past summer.

Shone Washington

Another JUCO target, Washington is a three-star defensive tackle from East Mississippi C.C. He previously committed to LSU during the 2022 recruiting cycle before ultimately signing with Georgia and ending up at East Mississippi. He's visited Baton Rouge before but missed recent trips for undisclosed reasons.

Harlem Berry

Berry, a four-star running back in the Class of 2025, has drawn interest from all of the top Power Five programs in the country. This appears to be his last visit before his commitment announcement Dec. 18 with LSU, Texas and Florida making up his top-three list. The Metairie, Louisiana product also visited Baton Rouge multiple times before.

Chase Canada

Canada announced he will be in Baton Rough this weekend, but he hasn't received an offer from the Tigers yet. The Class of 2024 prospect is an unrated cornerback from Trinity Valley C.C. He previously committed to Prairie View A&M in the 2023 cycle before going the JUCO route.

Gerritt Kemp

LSU FOOTBALL LSU vs Texas A&M Post Game Presser Notes

Jayden Daniels
  • Playing for LSU has meant a lot to him. He didn't know what he was getting into when he came here, but it worked out and he's enjoyed every moment.
  • Reflects on some of the people he met and his relationships on and off the field.
  • Said Texas A&M is a very talented team. Said they had some ups and downs, but they stayed the course and things started clicking.
  • Trusts his wide receivers to go up and get 1-on-1 balls. Said it was great to get his big three all touchdowns in the last game of the season.
  • Said on his big run that the corners took away all his options, and it was a must have 4th down, so he took off.
  • Said he has to make some decisions about the bowl game. He's going to sit down with his family and take this all in.
  • Thinks he made his case for the Heisman.
  • Lacy was emotional after his touchdown because earlier in the drive, his holding penalty negated Nabers career receiving yards record. Daniels said Lacy was heartbroken that he took that moment from him, but Nabers and the rest of his teammates picked him back up after his TD.
Brian Kelly
  • Finished the season 7-0 at home this season. 13-1 since Brian Kelly got here.
  • Said they're not perfect and they have to grind to win some games, but he loves his teams resolve.
  • Said big time players make big time plays in games like this, and you saw that with Nabers, Thomas and Daniels down the stretch.
  • Thought some of the plays they made defensively got them some momentum and helped the offense out. Also felt the offensive line stepped up late in the game.
  • Felt it was necessary to go for it on fourth down early in the half. Trailing and near midfield, he said he didn't even think about the decision.
  • Tips his cap to Texas A&M. Said controlling the clock gave them the best chance to win and they did for three quarters.
  • They went to spy technique with Harold Perkins late in the game on third downs after getting burned by the QB a few times. Said they also ran trail coverage, which they hadn't ran all year, and got three stops.
  • Says he's sure some of his draft eligible players will have to make decisions on playing in the bowl game. Also said they have a pretty good sense of where his guys are at deciding if they want to come back next year or enter the draft.
  • Points out that A&M has a top-10 defense in the country and Jayden threw for 4 touchdown passes and ran for 120 yards. Thinks Daniels strengthened his resume today.
  • Says this is the last stop on the Coach Kelly caravan. This is where he wants to be.
  • There will be an evaluation of the assistant coaches as well as himself. Everyone is apart of the evaluation process, including the players.
