LSU FOOTBALL That was one the craziest football game I ever saw.

It had every kind of bad play you can make. For one thing I don’t think I’ve ever seen a punt blocked by a guy jumping over the 3 men block up front. All kind of fumbles, all king of penalties and a lot of big plays because of defensive mistakes. But two things did prevail. One was that both teams played really hard and physical, especially after the score went to 17-0. At that point LSU ratcheted their physical up equal to kerlina.

Though he didn’t play as well as normal I would like to congratulate Nuss on keeping his cool ans bringing LSU back. The bad part for Kerlina is how this game is going to affect their play in future games. It has to result in a huge let down. I would like for them to give other reams that LSU might play that same kind of D rushing 6-7 an sometimes even 8 and see how it affects them.

LSU FOOTBALL 09/12 Brian Kelly Media Availability Notes

  • It was a good week of practice. Had to come in early yesterday after a late practice on Tuesday, but said his guys did a good job of keeping the energy up.
  • They have to be able to be creative with their defense to keep all three of their LBs on the field. Said they can all play different positions (Mike, Will, Sam), so they can do different things.
  • Said Zy Alexander is an experienced player who was "ascending" when he got hurt. Says he's more mature and stronger than most of their other DBs, so getting him back is big for them. Still says he's not ready to play 70 snaps a game, he's going to have to rotate in and out for now.
  • Says we could see all three LBs on the field at the same time, especially in games where their opponents QB is a big rushing threat. It takes away some in the coverage game, but it allows them to stuff the run better.
  • Said their havoc rate (pressures, PBUs, fumbles, etc.) was really high against USC because they threw the ball so much. Against Nicholls, it was harder since they were so run heavy. Says SC is more like Nicholls than USC because they want to run the ball and get the ball out quick. He's not worried about pressures and stats, he wants to limit explosive plays and not miss tackles.
  • Dominick McKinley has turf toe, which has been pretty significant. Want to get him going, but it'll be another 2+ weeks before he's ready to go, but they'll accelerate him quickly.
  • Womack has been moving around today, but they have him as a game time decision. Didn't specify the injury.

OFF TOPIC For anyone in the path of Francine- Stay safe!!!

I know we've got members all over the country here, but for the local folks that are in the path. Stay safe out there. We're staying as most probably are, hopefully Denham Springs won't get hit too bad. Every time I check on it, they keep talking about how it's shifted more east each time.

Anyway, from my family to yours. Praying for safety and protection.

LSU FOOTBALL Inside the numbers

I feel a little better about this weekends game after looking at some numbers.

1. Vegas has us at -7 on the road. Vegas is right more than wrong.
2. SCar only beat 0-2 Old Dominion by 4 in week 1. OD put up over 400 yards of offense.
3. SCar has thrown for 114 and 166 yards this year.
4. Kentucky is not a good team
5. KY threw for a whopping 44 yards and 2 INT’s against SCar - starting QB had 30 yards and a 1.2 QBR
6. SCar only had 86 yards rushing
7. Having Zy start at QB and moving Sage to S is a very good, big move
8. I think we run the ball better this week and our passing game is just getting started
