I was under the impression that fan vote didn't really count but it does... a little.
"The votes are comprised of media votes from six regions across the country (Far West, Mid-Atlantic, Southwest, Northeast, Midwest, South), one vote from all 57 previous winners, and 1 fan vote.

Players opt out for two reasons

1.it’s a meaning less game …no chance for a championship
2. avoid injury

If No. 1 is your reason then after the Alabama loss the last three games were meaningless

why not stop playing then

LSU running back Tre Bradford is expected to enter his name in the transfer portal once it opens. The junior RB totaled 4 carries for 1 yard against FSU and didn’t see another snap.

During his commitment announcement Thursday, Keylan Moses talked about how he was bringing people with him to LSU. I wrote about how Moses said he will shutdown his recruitment after committing to a school to show his loyalty and put his full focus into his senior season. His promise could be that, but it also could be how he'll try to convince his fellow Class of 2025 recruits to come to LSU. We see it every now and then how some recruits will help influence decisions to bring in a high-ranked class.

Today is decision day for Class of 2025 four-star defensive tackle Amare Adams. His top seven includes Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida State, LSU, and Tennessee. According to Adam Friedman, LSU is not among Adams' top-three choices: Clemson, South Carolina and Florida State.

Here is the guidance they have been given. They are in effect the Judiciary, the charter given is the Legislation.
