LSU BASEBALL Where things stand 5.0

Gents, below are the Saturday night SEC updates now that all of today’s games are complete and the dust has settled (projections, RPI, record, schedule).

So, the saying is Cardiac Tigers. Does anyone notice every time there is a crazy college football or baseball game recently, it seems like LSU is one of the teams? Rally Opossum. Shoe-gate, Plate-gate, I could go on and on…

Since starting this run at the midway point of conference play, we are now 18-5, 14-5 conference and we have seen our RPI improve from the mid-50s to #20.

La. Tech also had a big comeback today although not as crazy as ours.

Not sure who we are going to pitch tomorrow but my guess is Holman, Jump, and Herring are probably not going to pitch. But nothing would surprise me. Maybe even give each of them a couple innings just to stay in game shape, check timing, etc.

LSU BASEBALL LSU pitching options for tomorrow's SEC Champ game

Saw someone ask this on our observations piece, but this will reach more people. Here's how the Tigers currently stand pitching wise (PSA I'm not a pitching guru, so I don't really know, but this is my best guess):

Haven't been used this week:
  • Cam Johnson
  • Nic Bronzini
  • Micah Bucknam
  • Kade Woods
  • Jaden Noot (He got hurt after coming back, but his status is still unknown. wouldn't expect to see him)
Used Saturday:
  • Javen Coleman - 58 TP
  • Aiden Moffett - 26 TP
  • Primeaux - 17
  • Dutton - 32
  • Loer - 9
  • Hellmers - 18
  • Anderson - 24
  • Guidry - 20
  • Herring - 1
Used Thursday:
  • Hurd - 55
  • Ackenhausen - 35
  • Little - 51
  • Loer - 14
  • Ulloa - 32
Used Wednesday:
  • Holman - 100
  • Guidry - 35
Used Tuesday:
  • Jump - 105
  • Herring - 33
Guys I don't think will be available to throw tomorrow:
  • Jump
  • Holman
  • Coleman
  • Hurd
Guys I think COULD go tomorrow:
  • Little (least likely of this group)
  • Dutton
  • Ulloa
  • Moffett
  • Guidry
  • Loer
  • Primeaux
  • Anderson
  • Hellmers
Guys I think are 100% available:
  • Woods
  • Johnson
  • Bronzini
  • Bucknam
  • Herring
I think we'll 100% see Herring tomorrow and some of those guys from the could category will probably throw limited innings. It's going to be a very makeshift pitching staff, but that's what happens when you play five games in six days.

Softball-Recap: Cardinal get mauled by Tigers to open up Super Regional

Hey guys, Ben Parker from Stanford Rivals here. Figured I would swing by and share my recap from Friday's softball game. LSU destroyed Stanford to take game one in the Super Regional: 11-1 ending in five innings. Read all about that here.

LSU BASEBALL Where things stand 3.0

gents, we have shellacked #6 Georgia and #1 Kentucky and won a twice come-from-behind thriller over #20 USCe. We are now 39-20, 13-17, RPI #24 and are now projected to be a #2 seed in Norman, Oklahoma.

As well, it appears Baseball America now projects a record (11) SEC teams making the dance and (5) as top-8 seeds. See current projections below.

Locks
Kentucky (40-13, 22-8, RPI #1) - Top-8 seed
Texas A$M (44-13, 19-11, RPI #2) - Top-8 seed
Tennessee (47-11, 22-8, RPI #4) - Top-8 seed
Arkansas (43-14, 20-10, RPI #5) - Top-8 seed
Georgia (39-15, 17-13, RPI #6) - Top-8 seed
Mississippi State (38-20, 17-13, RPI #21) - at-large #2 seed (currently projected as the #17 team so they still have a shot to host, beat Tennessee today and that may do it)
LSU (39-20, 13-17, RPI #24) - at-large #2 seed
Vandy (38-20, 13-17, RPI #17) - at-large #2 Seed
