LSU FOOTBALL A mystery to me……

Why didn’t Denver Harris play againt MO? I may have missed something, I looked at the MO game with the object of looking at 3=4 players, Harris being one of them. i thought I saw him once but after watching the game i checked the snap count and he didn’t play. Has anyone heard or seen a reason he didn’t play? IMO Harris is physical and speed wise the DB with the most potential. I also wonder if a lot of the D problems result from the loss of #3.

LSU FOOTBALL Harold Perkins

I know there are some here that envision him as a 220# DE.
That guy is an absolute freak. He is by far the best LB at LSU and it’s not even close. The things he’s already doing as an OLB are impressive, especially since he converted this off-season. The way he is progressing, he will be in line to be all-sec this year and AA next year. Always in the right spot, able to lox up a RB, Hback or TE and drops in zone are so fast. His pick Saturday was a drop in zone where he was taking the underneath and read it from the snap.

LSU FOOTBALL 10/12 Brian Kelly Media Availability

  • Injury Report: Chris Hilton is the only one not playing. Everyone else is a full go.
  • Says he's meeting with Deuce tomorrow and will have a follow up on his next week.
  • Says they're sort of abandoning the Zalance Heard at RT. Not a slight on Heard, but they felt like they needed outstanding play from him to make it worth it. Says Miles Frazier has made big strides at guard, so moving Jones to guard for Heard to play tackle doesn't make sense anymore.
  • Despite Auburn throwing for under 100 yards in every power five game, he's still worried about the threat of it. Says Auburn can throw the football, but they choose not to. Highlights that Thorne has over 6,000 career passing yards and can 100% throw it if they ask him to.
  • LSU's offense is set up to minimize turnovers. Starts with protection, but also points out that Jayden Daniels will turn down some throws to be safe with the ball. It's not in his nature to put the football in harms way.
  • Talks about how BT and Malik Nabers have been able to score so many touchdowns on the slot fade. Says by running the football so much, it forces the defense to add guys in the box, and it ends up leaving a safety or backer on the slot guy, and that creates a favorable matchup for Thomas or Nabers.
  • Highlights Auburns big defensive front. Says they remind of the physical, fast Auburn defense they played a year ago. Says the SEC teams they've already faced have really good defenses, but thinks Auburn is as balanced as any defense they've played to this point.
  • Talk about the challenge they face with Auburn having two QBs who can run. They are committed to running the football with a good offensive line and they can do a lot of different things in their run game.
  • Says they plan on having all RBs available, but they're going to stick with Diggs until he starts slowing down (if that happens), then they'll try to find the next hot hand.
  • Believes special teams has been competent. Highlight Ramos and Bramblett's performances so far this year, but feels they need to be more explosive in the return game.
  • Said Jayden has been a full go at practice this week. He wasn't on the injury report, but they were worried about him being sore, but Daniels told him on Monday to not change any of his reps or routine this week.
  • Talked about the defense bouncing back in the second half last week. Thinks they'll get off to a much better start because they're getting a lot more comfortable in the new four down structure.

LSU FOOTBALL Overlooked run game

With all the attention on the great passing game the LSU run game is quietly establishing itself as a potent weapon

LSU is currently ranked 2nd in the SEC averaging 210 yards per game

Of course the passing game has allowed the run game to succeed and Daniels is a big part of the run game but much credit to our OL and Diggs who has emerged as a top Dog RB
