I'm a little late getting these out. One issue is we're still trying to work on some logistics for getting these videos uploaded from Trevor's camera to our new YouTube channel. Then of course the Maason Smith news.

Here's our video from Wednesday's player interviews.

LSU FOOTBALL News & Notes: Fall Camp Scrimmage

The last practice of fall camp today was held in Tiger Stadium, followed by a scrimmage. Here are some key takeaways from this morning.

The Good:

QB Jayden Daniels was looking strong after a season of training as the uncontested starting QB. His footwork was quick and he was able to complete passes under pressure. He also displayed some elevated speed running the ball.

RB Kaleb Jackson looked like an absolute force. His strength and speed were on full display as he ran a 75-yard touchdown.

Daniels continued to target WR Kyren Lacy and TE Mason Taylor, and they were able to connect on the majority of these passes.

CB Denver Harris was present at practice and participated in the scrimmage. This is coming off of weeks of uncertainty about his participation. Last week, Brian Kelly said Harris was dealing with some personal issues.

Safety Welton Spottsville ended the scrimmage with an incredible diving catch to score a TD

The Bad:

There was another small fight on the field, it happened, but not going to go into too much detail here, because when you’re a 19-year-old kid in 100-degree heat, there’s going to be some high tensions.

There seems to be a lack of depth in the QB realm. Daniels showed some improvement, but performances from Garrett Nussmeier and Rickie Collins left a little to be desired.

The Ugly:

Safety Sage Ryan left the scrimmage early and did not return after an injury to his left shoulder. He stayed on the ground for about 5 minutes with the training staff after a tackle and leaving the field he appeared to have limited to no mobility in his left arm, leaving him questionable for the first game.

Wardell Mack Heading to Florida

Corey Raymond gets his first star player from LA. Mack is the only player in the Top 10 in LA to leave the state, assuming Dominik McKinley commits to LSU.

Florida recruiting actually picked up this year, looking to end in the Top 10 nationally for the first time in decades.

Now we get to see if Napier is SEC caliber as a coach.

LSU FOOTBALL LSU Offense

From the discussions of the practices and knowing Denbrook and BK I believe that the LSU offense will be very diverse and explosive, even more so than we have been anticipating

I believe LSU has the capability to run double TE, particularly in the red zone. They will have the ability to run the ball, throw it to either TE with Pimpton, or a WR or RB. They can even have 2 TE on the field and split one out which will make the opponent‘s defense on the field less effective Because they have a D o the field for a standard 2 TE D. This, combined with the WR we have for other schemes plus the quality of the RB, particularly on passes out to the RB which I believe will be very effective this year. I also think the running game will be very good.

If my perception is true, this offense will be a big problem for an opposing DC. A weakness on their defense will be exceptionally difficult to hide because we will be able to attack a weakness anywhere Because of the diversity of our offense

LSU FOOTBALL Scrimmage Today at 10AM

LSU is practicing at Tiger Stadium today for a 10am scrimmage. It's a viewing only scrimmage, no cameras. But Anna is back in town, back from ESPN and will be on hand to bring you the goods after it's all said and done. I don't believe there's going to be any post scrimmage availability based on the email that was sent out yesterday, our next Brian Kelly opportunity will be sometime next week. But stay tuned, we'll have more from the scrimmage later.

Rival Rankings for LA are trash

I want to know when the last rivals rankings person stepped foot in this state

You are going to tell me the state that produces on avg almost 12 draft picks a year only has 1 guy in the top 50 - #49 and 2 in the top 100 and only 7 in the top 250

Dashawn Mcbryde is a 3 star ranked #22 in the state with offers from LSU and Bama while Koby Young is a top 10 player in the state when his best committable offer was Ga. Tech. yea right
