LIVE GAME THREAD LSU vs USC Live Game Thread

It is almost time. LSU and USC kick off at 6:30pm CT tonight, and I thought I'd open the LGT up early for y'all to drop score predictions and talk about the game. There's no update on Chris Hilton's stats as of now, but once I hear more I'll drop it in here too. Here's everything you need to know about tonight's game:

OFF TOPIC Stupid, stupid Louisiana Gaming Board...

I've spent a good part of the weekend trying to figure out why I couldn't seem to place any prop bets on the USC-LSU game only to FINALLY discover that Louisiana has banned those sorts of bets. Lovely.

Josh Williams over 50.5 yards rushing
Kaleb Jackson over 57.5 yards rushing
Mason Taylor over 39.5 yards receiving
Mason Taylor anytime TD (+205)

I feel like I'm just leaving money on the tree with those numbers available to everyone EXCEPT those inside the state of Louisiana. Reason #257 why I should have just headed down to Vegas, ticket or not.

LSU FOOTBALL No Greener Pastures for Max Johnson

Moving around hasn't helped Max. I wouldn't wish this on anyone but hunting for greener pastures doesn't always pan out. Playing now for North Caroline he got creamed on a blitz from Minnesota's corner back, and had to be carted off in third quarter with apparent knee injury. First game possibly his last this season.

For LSU in 20 & 21 he passed for 3,884 yards and 35 touchdowns. He moved to A&M in 2022 and in 2 seasons at Aggieland he passed for 1,969 yards and 12 touchdowns. Tonight he completed 12 of 19 passes for 71 yards and an interception. Ouch.😱🤕

Details site sigh-in

Need help on sighning in to details site. When I have been off the site (lsu.forums.rivals.com) for a short period it will request sigh-in. I usually put lsu. rivals.com in browser address and screen comes up with user name and password recorded. I hit log-in button and message appears - something went wrong. After checking passsord, it was an old password. After entering correct password and log-in, it sends me to RIVALS site which is irritating. At this point, I can enter lsu.rivals.com with correct password and finally arrive my destination. Such a round about way to get there. I use to log-in to LSU details and get there without going thru RIVALS!!!!! Tried yahoo for correcting password and get no response. Any suggestions????

LSU FOOTBALL Vegas Tiger Details Get Together

Only 3 months away gents. I was thinking Saturday night to get a place for those going to get to meet each other and of course drink. I can head up the place/bar and let everyone know ahead of time.

So let’s get a head count on who is going, wants to meet up, how long y’all will be there, and where y’all are staying.

I get in on Wednesday and head to Mesquite to play golf. Back to Vegas on Friday and leave Monday. I’m staying at the Wynn.

LSU FOOTBALL 08/29 Brian Kelly Media Availability

  • Says tackling is the hardest thing to simulate for the first game. They want to get everyone there healthy, so you don't want to go too hard, but you need to practice it. Also mentions special teams.
  • Payton Todd will be the holder this season. Says they'll use both Blake and Payton at punter this year. They want to be able to do the Aussie style punting, and Blake has done that so they want to use him when they feel necessary. Todd is a more in-line punter like Bramblett was.
  • Says Aussie style punting allows you to make it easier to handle some punt blocking schemes. You can kind of ignore the back end and not have to worry about it. Also, it makes it easier to target an outside third of the field to limit explosive returners.
  • Says both AJ Swann and Rickie Collins are 2A and 2B. They have different skill sets, and they'll utilize both of them to "give us the best No. 2 situation."
  • They've seen a lot of air raid offenses over the years. Says Lincoln Riley uses the TE more than most air raid offenses, which also gives them the option to run if you're overloading the pass.
  • Miles Frazier is good to go, he's practiced all week. Chris Hilton is still going through the motions, but isn't there yet.
  • He voted for the new SEC rule that teams have to announce player injuries prior to games. They don't have to announce what the injury is, but they have to provide updates on their injured players.
  • Says he can make any pregame routine work, but his job is to have his team ready to play. Gov. Landry wants to have the players on the field during the national anthem, and he says if he has to, he'll find a way to work it in.
  • There won't be too many freshman on the field offensively this Sunday, but thinks there are some defenders who could see the field. Says Ahmad Breaux will see the field, he's the most ready freshman. PJ Woodland is also someone who could see the field.
  • He's excited for the new video boards because he thinks it'll help the game experience. Instead of having to look at your phone for stats, scores, etc, you can just look up and get all your information. Says when people are constantly on their phones, it takes away from the game day atmosphere.
  • There are a number of players on this team that have played through the last two openers, so their preparation for this game has been outstanding. They don't want to lose another opener.
